Aidmatrix: Dallas-Based Aidmatrix Foundation helps mobilize nearly 100 million pounds of Food for the Hungry

Dallas, Texas Nov 23, 2005 Nearly 100 million pounds of food have been mobilized by Dallas-based Aidmatrix Foundation over the last four months in collaboration with America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network, and local food banks including the North Texas Food Bank, San Antonio Food Bank and others. “In a very real sense, Aidmatrix is helping to feed hungry Texans and people across America”, said Governor Scott McCallum, Aidmatrix CEO and President. “Before this system was introduced, food banks were not able to share the local donations they received throughout the food bank network. As a result, unused food was taking up valued warehouse space, thus preventing new food donations from being accommodated. This resulted in increased waste and clogged pathways to accept new donations.

After the Choice System was launched, food banks were now able to share their donations with the entire national network resulting in less wasted food, more hungry people served, more warehouse space available to accept needed donations – and therefore, less hungry people – and happy donors that the system can accept their donations and ensure they are put to good use.

“We’re gaining ground on defeating hunger in America utilizing all the tools available to us including powerful technology usually reserved for big business” said Aidmatrix COO-Global & EVP Amy McKenna Luz. “We thank all those that have made this progress possible – donors, food banks, America’s Second Harvest – a tremendous organization, and our visionary technologists. Aidmatrix is privileged to make a contribution to the fight against hunger”, McCallum said. For more information, or if you would like to help, visit our website.
