Great Wolf Lodge, Wisconsin Dells, won the Outstanding Partnership Tourism Trailblazer Award at the Wisconsin Fall Tourism Conference, sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus. Helen Wick, director of meetings and conventions who was instrumental in organizing the campaign accepted the award from Jim Holerpin, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
Great Wolf Lodge partnered with Fort McCoy to offer Operation Family Fun. The resort provided a free one-night stay, along with indoor waterpark passes and admission to Wiley’s Woods to soldiers who served or were scheduled to serve in Iraq or Afghanistan. Their families were also invited. A total of 412 soldiers and 1372 total guests stayed at the resort last May.
The resort offered Operation Family Fun again this fall and other Great Wolf Lodge resorts, owned by The Great Lakes Companies, Madison, Wis., are offering similar programs based on the success of Operation Family Fun at Great Wolf Lodge, Wisconsin Dells.
