-Focus on Energy Distinguishes the Top Five Winners for Energy Efficiency Commitment –

MADISON, Wis. (September 30, 2004) – Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy initiative, recently announced that Energy Consultants of Wisconsin, US Lamp, Erv Smith Services, Inc., Town & Country Electric and Thuemling Industrial Products are its top five Business Programs Preferred Program Allies for 2004. Chosen for their commitment to energy efficiency, this award distinguishes each company as an industry leader in their fields of expertise. The top five Preferred Program Allies were chosen based on a scoring system with points being earned for promoting, incorporating, implementing and reporting energy efficiency product sales and services.

About the Winners
Energy Consultants of Wisconsin, located in Grafton, Wis., specializes in retrofitting existing lighting fixtures with energy efficient lighting products, and provides services to industrial, commercial and small business clients.

US Lamp, based in Green Bay, Wis., provide customers with a full line of lighting products including services such as energy audits, lighting retrofits and computer-aided lighting design.

Erv Smith Services, Inc., of Eau Claire, Wis., provides a wealth of experience in residential, commercial and industrial installation, service and maintenance of home heating and air conditioning services.
Town & Country Electric, of Appleton, Wis., a division of Faith Technologies, Inc., was recognized for their commitment to being the leader in electrical construction services,

through faithful and quality service, exceptional employees, strong business ethnics and a safe work environment.

Thueming Industrial Products of Waukesha, Wis., offers supplies and repairs steam traps for schools, commercial businesses and industrial facilities.

All of the companies have been Preferred Program Allies since January 2003, and through the program have gained premium access to technical support and program information to help
their business customers save energy and increase profits more effectively.

“All of the winners are excellent examples of local companies that are helping Wisconsin businesses use energy more efficiently,” said Kurt Koepp, Trade Ally Coordinator for Focus on Energy. “The end result is that they are saving businesses money and benefiting the environment in the process.”
To qualify for Preferred Program Ally status, businesses must satisfy several criteria that include being in operation for at least two years, a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau and at least three implemented Focus on Energy projects. As a result, Preferred Program Allies provide top-notch energy efficiency services for their customers.
