MILWAUKEE – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and Milwaukee area workforce partners invite job seekers to attend an Advanced Manufacturing Recruitment Event this Thursday, October 19, from 3 – 7 p.m. at American Serb Hall to learn about current and future job openings at companies such as Foxconn, Ace Precision, Briggs & Stratton, DRS Technologies, Eaton, GenMet Corp., HUSCO International, Krones USA, Midwest Engineered Systems and Rexnord.

Southeastern Wisconsin’s growing advanced manufacturing industry requires workers of all backgrounds and skill sets, ranging from electricians, machinists and welders to accountants, information technology technicians, managers, office associates and more.

“Milwaukee’s growing advanced manufacturing sector requires workers from a variety of occupations,” DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. “The industry offers many good-paying jobs with family-supporting wages, averaging $55,000 per year. I encourage job seekers who are looking for rewarding careers in manufacturing to attend the October 19 Recruitment Event at Serb Hall to connect with hiring managers in person.”

Job seekers who attend the event should dress for success, bring multiple resume copies and prepare to meet hiring managers in person. Local education and training providers also will be onsite to help individuals identify and obtain the skills needed to start a rewarding career in the advanced manufacturing industry.

Job seekers are encouraged to visit their local Wisconsin Job Center to meet with DWD and other workforce professionals to refine resumes, discuss interview techniques and access other career and training resources prior to the event to better position themselves for success on October 19.

The Advanced Manufacturing Recruitment Event is coordinated in partnership with DWD, Employ Milwaukee and the Southeast Wisconsin and Waukesha – Ozaukee – Washington Workforce Development Boards.

American Serb Hall is located at 5101 W. Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee. For more information or to locate the nearest Job Center visit JobCenterorWisconsin.com
