Input on potential noise wall sought

Planned improvements to US 12/14 (Madison Beltline) between Old Sauk Road and Mineral Point Road will be discussed at a public information meeting on Wednesday, September 26 at the Madison College west campus, 302 S. Gammon Road, from 5-7:30 p.m. A brief presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m.

Auxiliary lanes will be added to the Beltline along the outside of the existing eastbound and westbound lanes between Mineral Point Road and Old Sauk Road. The entrance ramp for eastbound Old Sauk Road will be widened to accommodate two lanes of traffic and ramp metering will be installed.

With the addition of auxiliary lanes, WisDOT is considering the implementation of a noise wall if supported by local residents.

The meeting will be organized in an open-house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Project staff will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. The public is encouraged to attend and share verbal or written comments about the project.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting Michael Rampetsreiter, project manager at the WisDOT Southwest Region, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI, 53704; e-mail michael.rampetsreiter@dot.wi.gov; or phone (608) 246-7917.
