Western Wisconsin Health Opening – July 21-25, 2016

Western Wisconsin Health is excited to announce that the new state-of-the-art facility will open July 21-25, 2016.

The emergency department will be the first department to open on July 21, 2016 at 6:00 am. The birth center, inpatient, surgery, lab, and imaging departments will also be moving on July 21, 2016. All other departments will move on Friday, July 22, 2016. The clinic will be closed on Thursday, July 21 at 2:00pm and all day Friday, July 22.

We will have a community grand opening celebration on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00pm at the new campus. The celebration will include tours, live music featuring “The Teddy Bear Band”, light refreshments, a meet and greet with providers, health screenings, and much more.

The new Western Wisconsin Health facility is designed in prairie style architecture with structures that are highly sustainable and in harmony with the natural environment. The new logo reflects the unique geometry and sustainability of the building. The colors of the logo are earth toned and compliment the interior design.

The health and wellness facility will have three floors, with all patient services on the main, ground level. The facility will offer a full spectrum of health care services including a clinic, emergency services, surgical services, a premier birth center, inpatient care, state-of-the-art diagnostics, a public café, meditation room, and an educational atrium. The facility will also have a retail pharmacy and gift shop that will be owned and operated by the Village Pharmacy in Baldwin.

The Western Wisconsin Health fitness center and therapeutic pool will open on the campus in December, 2016. The long-range plan for the 105 acre health and wellness campus is to establish a community hub for health and wellness services of all types including: retirement housing, senior care, retail services, and other community resources that support healthy living.

The health and wellness facility has many sustainability features, including geothermal heat, all LED lighting, and water bottle filling stations. In the future, there will be photovoltaic (solar) capabilities. Most of the construction materials have been purchased locally in Wisconsin. The building will qualify for LEED Certification, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). LEED Certification is a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes, and neighborhoods. To date, 87% of the construction waste has been recycled on the site.

Parking for the grand opening celebration is available at the Western Wisconsin Health campus. Overflow parking is also available at The Orchard Event Center. A courtesy shuttle will be available to escort people from The Orchard to the new facility. Learn more about the new Western Wisconsin Health campus by visiting our new website at wwhealth.org.
