Launch, grow, or thrive at Business Success Summit
High-profile speakers, educational sessions featured at NWTC event
Business owners and entrepreneurs at every stage of business development will find information and inspiration for growth and success at Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College’s Business Success Summit on Nov. 19, 2014.
The multi-faceted event is tailored to deliver practical skills and tips for start-ups ready to launch, businesses poised for growth, and those with an eye on the global marketplace.
Three keynote speakers are sure to inspire, starting with Jason Kotecki. An entrepreneur since the day he graduated from college, Kotecki has built a business around his belief that success comes from remembering eight often-overlooked principles from childhood. Attendees will hear how Kotecki and others have stepped away from the invisible rules of adulthood to delight customers, create growth and cultivate an enthusiastic workforce.
Lisa Johnson, Vice President of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, will talk strategy, programs, loans and other state initiatives during the lunchtime presentation.
Wrapping up the day with a thought-provoking closing session will be author and marketing consultant Ralph Heath. The author will challenge attendees to rethink the way they lead organizations, embrace risk taking and move in bold new directions. Heath has a “never surrender” leadership style that also promotes failure as a necessity to success.
The day-long event includes breakout sessions along three concurrent tracks. Launch track will be tailored to the up-and-coming entrepreneur in search of information about financing, marketing, and general survival of the start-up stage. Grow track attendees are those ready to take their business to the next level. Sessions for this track will focus on managing cash flow, marketing for growth, and hiring the right people to grow your business. Thrive track attendees will talk globalization, second-stage financial growth and leadership development.
Karen Widmar, Management and Leadership Coach at NWTC, said the Summit was developed to support business owners in their quest to grow and succeed.
“Whether attendees are starting a business, in need of strategies to sustain their growth, or looking to grow their company into a global organization, this Summit will provide practical, timely information,” said Widmar.
Attendees may also participate in a special delight when they purchase a ticket for the Taste of Entrepreneurship lunch. Food-related companies with less than three years in the business will put out a spread of delicious treats to sample and enjoy. The luncheon is held as part of the Business Success Summit but requires a small additional charge for attendees.
