Hansen Reynolds Dickinson Crueger LLC: Milwaukee complex business litigation law firm expands to Chicago

Milwaukee Complex Business Litigation Law Firm Expands to Chicago

Hires Chicago Managing Partner to Open New Office to Serve Growing Chicagoland Clientele

February 25, 2014, Milwaukee, WI – In less than three years, Hansen Reynolds Dickinson Crueger LLC (“HRDC”) has grown from a small, upstart law firm founded by four “big law leavers” to a successful corporate and patent litigation boutique firm now expanding to Chicago. This month the firm opens an office at 203 N. LaSalle St. and has hired Alan W. Nicgorski as its Chicago office managing partner.

HRDC represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial and patent litigation cases in Wisconsin and throughout the country. The firm has expanded from its four founding partners in 2011 to 15 attorneys today. The firm’s revenue nearly tripled between its first full year of 2012 to its second year of 2013. Nearly 15 percent of the firm’s work is for Chicagoland clients with expectations that will grow to 25 to 35 percent in the next three to five years.

“Just as we have found in Milwaukee, Chicagoland clients are interested in receiving top-notch legal expertise and services at more reasonable rates than large law firms can provide,” said HRDC Managing Partner, Thomas S. Reynolds II. “Hansen Reynolds was founded on a low-overhead model, which has allowed us to keep fees reasonable. Additionally, we’re positioned to share risk with clients by occasionally entering into contingency fee arrangements– something large law firms are rarely, if ever, able to do.”

New Chicago office Managing Partner Nicgorski is an accomplished litigator with deep family ties to Milwaukee. Nicgorski was most recently a partner at the prominent Chicago litigation boutique Scandaglia & Ryan. His esteemed legal career includes serving as an associate attorney at national law firm Jenner & Block and as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Nicgorski earned his J.D. with honors from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1997 and his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame in 1994.

“By moving to HRDC, I’m joining a savvy team of talented litigators that’s experienced rapid growth and has aggressive plans for the future,” Nicgorski explained. “I look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to clients at reasonable rates, as well as expanding the geographic footprint of our practice throughout the Midwest and beyond.”

In addition to Nicgorski, HRDC plans to add 7 to 10 lawyers in its Chicago office over the next three to five years. Overall, HRDC anticipates that 2014 firm revenue will increase 25 percent over 2013 levels.
