Kuehn Dairy Farm: To host event commemorating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and the Kuehn Dairy Farm, in Egg Harbor, Wis, will be holding a community Earth Day Celebration on April 22.

The celebration will feature a brief history of Earth Day; a presentation on alternative energy and alternative energy sources, how they work and benefit the community at large; and USDA Rural Development will highlight the new solar energy project for the farm which will result in energy cost savings for the operation and promote environmentally friendly ways for energy production, in addition to an award presentation. There will also be tours of the Farm and hands on activities throughout the event. Community members are invited and encouraged to attend the free event.

Third graders from Gibraltar Area School District are also participating in an Earth Day Logo Drawing Contest, with the winning child’s poster used as the logo for next year’s Earth Day Celebration through USDA Rural Development in Wisconsin.
