Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative:Promotes Lawless and Plocher to Executive Positions

BROOKFIELD, WISC. (January 10, 2017) – Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) announced two new additions to its executive team
- Tom Lawless was recently promoted to Chief Financial Officer after a 26-year career working in both the public and non-profit sectors to deliver high quality and cost-effective health care and long-term care services to vulnerable populations. Lawless brings expertise in data warehousing and analysis, financial analysis and forecasting, budgeting and resource planning to the CFO position.
Lawless previously served as the company’s Vice President of Information Services and Business Analytics where his dedication to the company’s mission and his leadership skills helped CGHC grow exponentially in 2018.
- Dr. David Plocher, a board-certified internist, was recently promoted to Chief Medical Officer. Plocher has had experience in a variety of health care leadership roles within health insurance companies and hospital systems. One of his many noteworthy achievements includes his pioneering efforts to create one of the first nationwide Centers of Excellence networks of facilities with the highest organ transplant survival rates.
Most recently, Plocher served as the Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield Minnesota where he played a key role in helping the organization work towards financial stability. He has also served as the Vice President of Optum and partner at Ernst and Young, a private professional services firm where he worked to save costs for several health systems.
