MADISON, Wis. (July 14, 2004) — Madison-based creative communication firm Planet Propaganda announces the launch of a new independent film division named P Star Pictures. The venture into entertainment is a natural extension after years of providing national clients with a wide range of motion and production services.

“Planet Propaganda is as focused as ever on the design, interactive, and advertising needs of our clients,” stated John Besmer, Planet principal and head of P Star Pictures. “But we’ve identified a real opportunity in applying our multi-disciplinary approach to the development and marketing of our own features, shorts, and documentaries,” Besmer continued. “We’re excited about the possibilities of leveraging our relationships and experience in the film industry to push the motion work we do for Planet Propaganda clients.”

“Our clients are increasingly looking for new ways to communicate,” said Planet Propaganda president Rob Sax. “With the interactive and film worlds converging as quickly as they are, P-Star Pictures is the perfect vehicle for keeping us out in front of the curve.”

P Star Pictures’ first project begins shooting August 8th. The film, “Lifelike,” is a 20-minute short to be shot in the Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin area.

Planet Propaganda is a communication company providing graphic design, advertising, active media, and motion projects for desire-based brands including Gary Fisher Bicycles, Bretford, Elektra Records, American Players Theatre, and Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches.
