Carthage College, Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium co-host statewide event
KENOSHA, Wis. – Students, educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from across the state will gather at Carthage College on Friday, Aug. 14, for the 36th annual Wisconsin Space Conference.
This year’s theme, “Aerospace Entrepreneurship: Investing in Wisconsin’s Economy,” highlights the growing role of innovation, research, and commercialization in the state’s aerospace sector. The daylong event is hosted by Carthage and the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium.
The conference will feature a plenary presentation by Aaron Olson and Alexander Strange, co-founders of mineral exploration company Voluna. These WSGC alumni will explore their journey from higher education research and NASA experience to entrepreneurship.
The conference will also feature an entrepreneurship panel with aerospace and technology executives, several breakout sessions, a student research poster presentation, networking opportunities, and an awards ceremony celebrating research and outreach accomplishments.
Held in the Todd Wehr Center on Carthage’s campus, 2001 Alford Park Drive, the annual conference serves as Wisconsin’s premier gathering for the state’s aerospace and space science community.
The cost to attend is $60 for students, $80 for K-12 teachers, and $90 for other community members. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in the fee.
