HBS Wisconsin: HBS Wisconsin names Brian Taffora Managing Principal

MADISON, WI — HBS Wisconsin today announced that Brian Taffora has been named Managing Principal on the firm’s Wisconsin Government Affairs team in Madison.

Brian has served as a Principal with HBS Wisconsin, advising elected leaders and C-suite executives on legislative and regulatory strategy, with deep experience in start-ups, emerging businesses, venture capital, and economic development projects.

“Brian has built one of the strongest reputations in Madison for getting results, on both sides of the aisle. His judgment, his relationships, and his ability to turn policy into action are exactly what our clients across Wisconsin need,” said HBS Managing Principal & Director of Growth Rob Marchant.

Brian served on the transition team for then Wisconsin Governor-Elect Tony Evers in 2018 and was appointed Director of Economic Development for the Office of the Milwaukee County Executive, where he worked with officials in 19 municipalities to devise and implement major development and redevelopment strategies. Earlier in his career, he helped establish and led the Wisconsin Business Council as Executive Director and Vice President of Government Affairs.

As Managing Principal, Brian will lead HBS’s Wisconsin practice along with Managing Principal and Director of Growth Rob Marchant, providing an unmatched bipartisan team to guide client strategy across the Legislature and executive branch agencies while continuing to grow the firm’s presence in Madison and Milwaukee. The promotion comes as Wisconsin enters a period of significant legislative turnover, with more than a dozen incumbents not seeking re-election this cycle, underscoring the need for experienced, bipartisan counsel as new leadership takes shape in Madison.
