Thiensville, WI — April 8th, 2026 — Downtown Thiensville is celebrating 40 years of bringing the community together, with new experiences, expanded programming, and a few surprises in store for 2026.
First known as the Thiensville Business Association, established in 1986, and now Downtown Thiensville, the organization spent three decades supporting businesses, giving them a voice at Village Hall and shaping Thiensville into the business-friendly municipality it is today. Over the last nine years they have introduced and built community-minded events, adapting to the community’s wants and needs to offer programming that welcomes families, businesses and the surrounding communities to celebrate all things Thiensville. Building on the award-winning Farmers Market and music-inspired Eats and Beats and BluesFest, new, signature events such as The Village Table, KidsFest, Nightmare on Elm Street, and last year’s first-ever Cookie Walk – all returning again in 2026 – reflect its ongoing commitment to creating new and positive memorable experiences in the village.
“Reaching 40 years is an incredible milestone for our organization and our community,” said Traci Cain, Executive Director, Downtown Thiensville. “Downtown Thiensville has always been about bringing people together, whether that’s through shopping local, gathering for events, or simply enjoying the charm of our village. We’re excited to celebrate this legacy with enhanced programming and new elements added to our events that will make them even more memorable.”
The 40th anniversary celebration will be woven throughout Downtown Thiensville’s 2026 event season, kicking off Saturday, May 16 with the Annual Village-Wide Rummage & Retail Sale. Those who wish to sign up and participate have until May 8th to do so, and receive a yard sign. This event is for businesses and residences alike.
New in 2026, visitors can expect exciting and freshly enhanced Farmers Market programming focused on wellness, movement and connection, along with a brand-new event debuting in July that combines music, food and a family-friendly party. Details will be announced soon.
Downtown Thiensville invites residents, businesses, and community partners to be part of the celebration.
