Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison (RMHC-Madison) is proud to launch its second annual Room for Comfort campaign, running throughout April. This year’s campaign aims to fund the anticipated 3,000 hotel nights needed for families whose children are receiving medical care at a Madison-area hospital.
RMHC-Madison has been operating at overcapacity for several years. Last year, the House averaged a 121% occupancy rate and provided over 2,800 hotel nights to extend its services when the House was full.
“After the incredible community support in 2025, we’re excited to bring back Room for Comfort,” said Stephanie Hayden, Chief Executive Officer at RMHC-Madison. “Last year, our community helped us support an additional 785 families through hotel partnerships — families who otherwise may have had nowhere to stay while their child received care. This year, we’re building on that momentum to ensure every family who needs us has a Room for Comfort.”
The Room for Comfort campaign is already off to a tremendous start, thanks to partnerships with Exact Sciences, Illumina Foundation, Raymond Management Company, Kennedy Communications, Madison Gas & Electric Foundation, and Numbers4Nonprofits, who are igniting this effort to provide support for families in need.
How to Support
Community members can support the Room for Comfort campaign by donating and sharing on social media. Financial donations provide families with essential services and a place to stay. Spreading the word is vital to the success of the campaign – using #RoomForComfort on social media helps raise awareness and extends the impact of this initiative.
