— Milwaukee-based ambulance service Bell Ambulance Inc. has begun the final phase of notifying people who were impacted by a data breach last year.
The company yesterday announced it has completed a review of its network, following an investigation into unauthorized activity found in the computer system in February 2025.
After bringing in third-party forensic experts to assess the impact of the data breach, Bell Ambulance confirmed that an unauthorized user had accessed sensitive data.
That includes first and last names linked to at least one of the following potentially identifying factors: date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, financial account information, payment card information, and medical and health insurance information.
The company’s initial responses included securing its network, resetting passwords and securing all accounts.
While the review was underway, the company in April told some of the impacted people about the data breach, according to the release. More recently, the company says it identified and notified more impacted people, who were told of the issue earlier this year.
Now, the review process is complete, and the company yesterday started issuing its last notices to those whose personal information may have been exposed. But the company says “there is no evidence to suggest that information has been or will be misused at this time.”
