Hortonville, WI (September 14, 2026): – As students across the Hortonville Area School District headed back to school, Wolf River Community Bank and a Fox Valley healthcare organization helped ensure local students started the year with the resources they needed by donating 88 backpacks filled with grade-specific school supplies for students from 4K through high school.
When Hortonville Area School District social workers reached out for help supporting students in need, Wolf River Community Bank responded. While bank team members personally donated backpacks and school supplies, a local healthcare organization also contributed supplies, and Wolf River Community Bank provided any additional items needed to fulfill supply lists. Bank employees organized and packed supplies into backpacks for the six schools within the district spanning throughout Greenville and Hortonville, ensuring they were ready for pickup at school open houses the week before fall classes resumed. The collaborative effort helped ease the financial burden of back-to-school shopping for local families.
“These backpacks, filled with much-needed school supplies, gave students the tools necessary to feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn,” said Heather Ryan, Social Worker for the Hortonville Area School District. “This support helps remove barriers to learning and allows students to focus on their education and succeed in the classroom. The students loved receiving the backpacks, and seeing their smiles makes the impact even more meaningful.”
