UW-Green Bay: Phoenix pride fuels record-breaking third annual UW-Green Bay Giving Day

GREEN BAY, Wis.— UW-Green Bay asked, and the Phoenix community showed up. Friends, alumni and community partners came together and raised $262,604 during the third annual UW-Green Bay Giving Day marking a 28.2% increase over last year and underscoring the powerful role UW-Green Bay plays in strengthening the region it serves.

Giving Day spotlights the impact of education across UW-Green Bay’s 16-county footprint, supporting students and programs that fuel the workforce and enrich communities throughout northeast Wisconsin.

“We saw Phoenix pride in action,” said Dr. Dawn Crim, vice chancellor for Advancement and Community Engagement, and president of the UW-Green Bay Foundation. “Giving Day allowed donors to invest in what matters most to them, whether it’s student success, high-impact internships, the arts or athletics, while advancing UW-Green Bay’s mission to graduate future-focused, workforce ready leaders for our region.”

Donor generosity supports need-based scholarships for UW-Green Bay undergraduate students, over a third of whom come from low-income households. Gifts also strengthen high-demand academic programs aligned with the region’s workforce needs including engineering, education and nursing, as well as student success initiatives.

Momentum for the campaign was amplified by a $50,000 donation match from the UW-Green Bay Council of Trustees, a group of accomplished alumni and community leaders dedicated to advancing the University’s mission. Their leadership inspired broader participation across the Phoenix flock.

In total, 925 donors supported Giving Day, including 245 first-time donors – all contributing to a shared vision for student opportunity and regional impact.

While Giving Day is a 24-hour celebration, support for UW-Green Bay students makes a difference year-round. To explore giving opportunities, please visit the UW-Green Bay Foundation giving page, or reach out to the UW-Green Bay Advancement Office at foundation@uwgb.edu or 920-465-2074
