The Richardson School: Expands to Sheboygan, bringing therapeutic education services to more families

Sheboygan, Wis. – The Richardson School (TRS), a MyPath company, announced the opening of its newest therapeutic day school in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, expanding access to specialized educational and therapeutic services for students and families in the community.

The new Sheboygan campus, opening in September, marks an important step in The Richardson School’s continued growth across Wisconsin and creates a new option for students who may struggle in traditional school environments.

The Richardson School serves students ages 5-21 with emotional, neurological and/or developmental disabilities. Through its therapeutic day school model, TRS provides individualized education and therapeutic support designed to help students develop the skills they need to reach their potential and, when appropriate, successfully return to their home school environment.

“Opening our sixth location isn’t just about expanding our footprint, it’s about opening new possibilities for students across Wisconsin who gain the skills they need to reach their potential through a therapeutic approach,” said Gena Santharam, Executive Director of The Richardson School. “We are excited to become part of the Sheboygan community and create a  place where students can learn, grow and build the skills they need to be successful.”

With the addition of Sheboygan, The Richardson School operates six therapeutic day schools serving more than 190 students throughout eastern Wisconsin and north central Illinois.

In addition to its therapeutic day schools, TRS offers Bobcat Camp, a therapeutic, community-based and structured recreational program for children ages 5-17 with autism and other developmental disabilities. Bobcat Camp is offered at every TRS campus throughout the year during school breaks and summer months.

The opening of the Sheboygan campus strengthens The Richardson School’s ability to serve students closer to home while continuing its commitment to helping every student achieve greater independence and success.
