(Green Bay, Wis.) – During the month of July, 239,091 metric tons of cargo moved through Port Green Bay, an 8% increase from July 2025, when totals reached 221,692 tons.
“July was another strong month for cargo movement at Port Green Bay,” said Dean Haen, Port Green Bay Director. “We’re seeing steady activity across a range of commodities, and that’s a good indicator of how the shipping season is progressing.”
Six commodities moved through the Port in July: cement (48,063 tons), coal (16,623 tons), gypsum (4,576 tons), limestone (83,229 tons), salt (44,698 tons) and petroleum products (41,902 tons). Coal and petroleum products posted significant year-to-date gains, with coal tracking 124% higher than 2025 and petroleum products tracking 244% higher. A total of 22 vessels entered the Port in July, bringing the year-to-date total to 59.
“The range of materials moving through the Port shows just how many industries rely on marine transportation,” Haen said. “Port Green Bay provides an important connection for those businesses, helping move the materials they need efficiently while supporting economic activity throughout northeast Wisconsin.”
