Platform Communications: Announces leadership additions and team promotions

MADISON, Wis. — Platform Communications is announcing several leadership additions and team promotions, strengthening the company’s expertise across all of its operations and building further capabilities in its strategic communications offerings, from public affairs  to marketing.

The agency recently welcomed Elizabeth Evenson as Vice President of Executive Affairs and named Alec Zimmerman as Vice President of Public Affairs, along with various other promotions.

Evenson brings extensive leadership experience across the private sector, government, and nonprofit environments. Her background includes senior executive roles in Wisconsin state government, operational leadership at the national nonprofit Institute for Reforming Government, and consulting experience in healthcare revenue cycle management. At Platform, she oversees strategy and organizational management for a range of initiatives at the company.

Zimmerman oversees Platform’s public affairs team, leading communications strategies involving government relations and public policy initiatives. He joined Platform in January 2023 and most recently served as the firm’s Senior Director of Advocacy & Strategic Communications. Prior to joining the agency, Zimmerman was a campaign operative and remains a leading voice in Wisconsin politics.

Platform also announced the promotions of Emelia Rohl and Sophia Laib within the company’s Marketing and Digital Division, as well as Abe Decker in the Public Affairs Division.

Rohl has been promoted to Director within Platform’s Marketing and Digital division, where she leads higher-level strategic initiatives for clients across industries. She joined Platform in August 2022 as an Account Executive and previously worked in public relations roles supporting nonprofits, private corporations, and the Wisconsin State Legislature.

Laib has been promoted to Account Executive and is taking on expanded responsibilities within the agency’s marketing and digital team. She first joined Platform as an intern before advancing to an Account Coordinator role. Since joining the agency in May 2023, Laib recently earned her master’s degree in Strategic Brand Communication from the University of Illinois.

Decker has been promoted to Account Executive, where he is taking on greater responsibilities within Platform’s Public Affairs division. Abe first joined Platform in 2025, and has brought a fresh perspective and strong collaborative approach to the team’s strategic communications efforts.
