Cudahy, Wis. – The Richardson School (TRS), a MyPath company, announced the relocation of its West Allis therapeutic day school to a new facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin, creating an updated learning environment for students and expanding the school’s ability to serve families in the Milwaukee-area community.
The new Cudahy location, opening this fall, replaces The Richardson School’s existing West Allis campus and provides students and staff with a new setting designed to support the school’s therapeutic and educational programming.
The Richardson School serves students ages 5-21 with emotional, neurological and/or developmental disabilities. Its therapeutic day school model combines individualized education and therapeutic support to help students develop the skills they need to reach their potential and, when appropriate, return successfully to their home school environment.
“We are excited to begin this next chapter in Cudahy. This move to a larger facility reflects the incredible need for our programming and services, giving us the space to grow, innovate, and bring therapeutic education to even more students.” said Gena Santharam, Executive Director of The Richardson School. “This new location gives us an opportunity to provide our students and staff with an environment that supports learning, growth and connection while allowing us to continue serving families throughout the Milwaukee area.”
The Richardson School operates six therapeutic day schools serving more than 190 students throughout eastern Wisconsin and north central Illinois.
In addition to its therapeutic day schools, TRS offers Bobcat Camp, a therapeutic, community-based and structured recreational program for children ages 5-17 with autism and other developmental disabilities. Bobcat Camp is offered at every TRS campus year-round during school breaks and summer months when school is not in session.
The move to Cudahy ensures The Richardson School can continue providing these services to students and families in the Milwaukee area while positioning the campus for the future.
