Monterey Mills: Donates 350 pet beds to aid Ridglan Farms beagle rescue

JANESVILLE, WI (May 5, 2026) — Monterey Mills and its owners, President Dan Sinykin and Wisconsin State Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin, today announced a donation of 350 premium pet beds to Wisconsin animal rescue organizations aiding the beagles rescued from the Ridglan Farms breeding facility in Mt. Horeb, WI.

The pet beds, manufactured from Monterey Mills’ high-performance fabrics, address an urgent need as Wisconsin animal shelters and rescue groups coordinate intake for the remaining 500 beagles of the 1,500 being released from the facility. The Wisconsin organizations are working with the Beagle Freedom Project to facilitate initial placement of the dogs. The donation supports critical care during the dogs’ transition to foster homes and eventual adoption.

“These beds provide essential comfort during a stressful transition for these animals,” said Dan Sinykin, Monterey Mills President. “We’re honored to support Wisconsin’s rescue community at this critical moment.”

State Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin added, “Wisconsin’s animal welfare organizations are demonstrating extraordinary compassion and capability. This donation reflects our shared commitment to their success.”

Senator Habush Sinykin: Longtime Puppy Mill Legislation Leader
Senator Habush Sinykin has maintained a consistent record of animal welfare advocacy throughout her legislative service. Prior to elected office, she played an important role in drafting and championing Wisconsin’s landmark 2009 puppy mill legislation (2009 Wisconsin Act 90), which established the state’s first comprehensive regulations for commercial dog breeding operations. The law set mandatory standards for housing, sanitation, and veterinary care—directly addressing inhumane conditions prevalent in unregulated facilities.

Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies Requested Support
The donation originated with a direct request from Eilene Ribbens, Founder and Executive Director of the Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, who contacted the Sinykins on behalf of the Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies to request material support for the unfolding Ridglan rescue operation.

“When I reached out to Jodi and Dan, I knew their manufacturing expertise and commitment to animal welfare made them ideal partners for this mission.” said Ribbens. “These 350 pet beds represent immediate, practical relief for rescue partners managing unprecedented intake volume. Every rescued

beagle deserves this basic dignity as they begin recovery.”

The pet beds will be distributed through Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies’ network to shelters and rescue groups receiving Ridglan Farms beagles, including Dane County Humane Society, Wisconsin Humane Society, and more than 20 additional partner organizations. The beds will initially be used as carrier mats and will provide comfort to the dogs in transit as they begin the next step in their journey to safe shelter and loving homes.
