Kroll campaign: Democratic candidate John Kroll tours Northern Midwest Carpenters’ training facility in Mosinee

WAUSAU, Wis. — On October 7, Democratic candidate for Assembly District 85 John Kroll toured the Northern Midwest Carpenters’ training facility in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Kroll, who grew up in a blue collar family and attended Western Technical College, says the facility is a regional asset that helps workers and families make a good living without a four-year degree.

“I’m proud as heck of the men and women who are part of the skilled trades workforce helping to build Wisconsin,” said Kroll. “As our state confronts a growing workforce shortage, we’re fortunate to have strong partners like the carpenters union in our own backyard serving as a pipeline for well-paying jobs that can support families and sustain communities. In the Assembly, I will be an unwavering advocate for workforce development. It starts with doubling down on Madison’s commitment to the building trades, technical colleges like the one I attended and Northcentral Technical College here in Wausau, and apprenticeship programs that can begin as early as high school. No matter who you are or where you’re from, you deserve career pathways that allow you to live a better life, provide for your family, and contribute to your community.”

The Northern Midwest Carpenters (NMC) represents more than 36,000 skilled union members and their families across Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. NMC is chartered by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) – one of North America’s oldest and most respected labor unions that is committed to raising industry standards, protecting workers’ rights, and strengthening both our communities and our industry since 1881. The NMC’s Mosinee training facility opened in late 2024 and currently serves approximately 200 people through its apprenticeship training programs.
