Twice weekly market to welcome 10 new vendors and 20+ returning community staples
MADISON, Wis. (April 28, 2026) –Spring has arrived, and with it, the return of Hilldale’s popular Farmers Market.
The annual market opens May 2nd and runs every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm through October 31st in the lot abutting L.L.Bean, off Segoe Road. This season, Hilldale is welcoming several new vendors to the market, including Stuffed Bagels (take & bake stuffed bagels, plus plain bagels/schmears), Especially Stroopwafels (caramel-filled treats crafted by young adults with disabilities), Epazote (Mex-American food truck), Green Door Gardens (cut flowers, house plants, dried bouquets), and Green Box LLC (home composting). Twenty beloved favorites will be returning too, including Farmer John’s Cheese, El Sabor de Puebla (Mexican cuisine), Take Two Bakery and Rolling Pin Bake Shop, Nehmer Family Farm (produce, herbs, perennials) and Air Joe Farms (microgreens).
Shoppers can expect a rotating mix of vendors throughout the season, offering Wisconsin cheese, locally grown produce, meat and eggs, baked goods, plants, herbs, microgreens and more, making each visit a little different from the last.
To mark the start of the season, Hilldale is launching a Farmers Market Recipe Swap. Guests can share their favorite dishes using market ingredients by filling out a recipe card and dropping it in the onsite collection box. Each week, selected recipes will be featured on Hilldale’s website, offering fresh inspiration all season long.
Opening day will feature live music by acoustic guitarist Eve Levi from 10am-12pm, and vendors will be handing out complimentary Hilldale Farmers Markets totes to their first customers of the season.
“The Farmers Market is one of Hilldale’s most beloved traditions – a walkable, welcoming celebration of Madison’s growers, makers and artisans. With new vendors joining our returning favorites this season, we couldn’t be more excited to add yet another layer to what makes Hilldale such a special destination for this community.” – Amanda Stiebens, General Manager, Hilldale
The market is just one of many reasons to spend a day at Hilldale. Guests can extend their visit by exploring the property’s vibrant mix of local and national retailers – including the newly opened Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, a Madison original, and Faherty, known for their high-quality, sustainable, coastal cool clothing. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome at the market and throughout the property, making it an easy outing for the whole family.
