Fox Cities Chamber program recognizes employers who demonstrate a significant commitment to promoting work/life integration for their employees
FOX CITIES, Wis. – (April 22, 2026) – The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region has been certified as a Gold Employee Friendly Workplace by the Fox Cities Chamber. The Employee Friendly Workplace certification level is determined by the Fox Cities Chamber based on an organization’s ratings in four categories: paid leave and flexible work schedules, health & wellness support, financial support, and perks. Gold-certified employers go above and beyond, offering benefits and policies that promote work/life integration and strive to meet diverse needs of employees.
The honor marks the second EFW certification for the company, which was named a silver-certified Employee Friendly Workplace in 2022. Reaching this next level speaks to their dedication to continually working to make the Community Foundation an employer of choice in the Fox Cities.
Curt Detjen, President and CEO of the Community Foundation, expresses the importance behind the certification. “We truly value our employees and want them to be able to see and feel that every day. We know that the service we provide to our donors, professional advisors, nonprofits, and community is at its best when we put our employees at the forefront, and this certification is a great reflection of the positive workplace we’ve been working hard to create and maintain.”
Some of the initiatives that contribute to the Community Foundation’s certification include a flexible, hybrid work environment, paid time off for both full-time and part-time employees, health and wellness incentives, and a culture of volunteerism. These benefits led the Community Foundation to be recognized as an employer of choice in the past. Recent advancements like expanding bereavement pay, offering management training, having an on-site notary, recognizing and celebrating employee milestones, and giving a logo wear allowance helped them level up to be a Gold-Status Employee Friendly Workplace.
“Creating a workplace where employees feel cared about, listened to, rewarded, and appreciated is critical to who we are as an organization,” says Amy Yang, Senior HR Generalist for the Community Foundation. “In order to live our mission, we need to make sure our employees look forward to coming to work, find meaning in their careers, and take pride in what they’re doing for our community each and every day.”
The mission of the Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace Initiative is to encourage the adoption of more employee friendly workplace practices and policies in order to enhance work/life balance and successfully attract and retain the best employees to the region.
Certification is open to all employers with operations located in the Fox Cites (Calumet, Outagamie and northern Winnebago Counties). The comprehensive benefit criteria incorporated into the application is intended to be attainable as well as aspirational for employers of any size across all industry sectors.
