Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce and Development announced $6.6 million in grants to train workers on artificial intelligence and other skills.
The grants, to be distributed across 84 employers, are meant to train over 3,800 people across the state as part of the Wisconsin Training for Resilient Advanced Industry Needs employer grant program.
Evers announced the creation of the program, supported by federal funding, during his State of the State address earlier this year.
“Making sure Wisconsin is prepared to create jobs for the future and meet the rapidly evolving needs of a 21st-century economy must be a top priority. I’m proud to get these funds out the door to help train Wisconsinites across the state in these in-demand, fast-growing industries,” Evers said in a news release.
