MILTON, Wis. (August 3, 2026) – Diamond Assets, one of the nation’s largest and most trusted Apple technology buyback partners, has named Ryan Murphy as Executive Account Director for the Northeast and Alaska. Murphy brings more than 20 years of experience in technology sales, lifecycle management, strategic partnerships, and client advocacy across education, government, and enterprise markets.
Murphy joins Diamond Assets after founding and leading TrustTrade, a technology buyback and lifecycle management company that generated $1.4 million in first-year revenue. As a broker, Murphy worked directly with multiple technology buyback providers, giving him firsthand insight into their operations, grading practices, reconciliation processes, and customer experiences. That perspective played an important role in his decision to join Diamond Assets.
“Ryan has evaluated this industry from nearly every angle – as a customer, broker, entrepreneur, and technology advisor,” said John Starcke, President of Diamond Assets. “He understands what organizations should expect from a technology lifecycle partner, including an honest device valuation that aligns with the amount they ultimately receive. His decision to join Diamond Assets is because of his extensive knowledge of the ITAD industry.”
As Executive Account Director, Murphy will serve education, government, and enterprise organizations across the Northeast and Alaska. He will focus on building long-term relationships and helping organizations develop sustainable technology lifecycle strategies, maximize device value, and bring greater predictability to the buyback and refresh process.
Before founding TrustTrade, Murphy spent more than a decade with Apple, where he managed education accounts throughout Alaska as well as higher education accounts across the Northwest. In that role, he worked with more than 50 school districts and held annual revenue responsibility of $16 million. His career also includes extensive government and public-sector experience with AT&T Mobility, where he regularly exceeded sales goals and helped execute complex mobility contracts.
“I have worked with organizations across the technology buyback industry and I have firsthand experience with much of the behind-the-scenes working of this industry,” Murphy said. “That experience made me very intentional about my next step. I chose Diamond Assets because it has the integrity, people, processes and national reach to deliver real value – not simply make promises to win the business. I am excited to bring my relationships and experience to a company that shares my commitment to setting realistic expectations, protecting customers, and delivering results.”
Murphy’s experience spans startup leadership, business development, contract negotiation, device lifecycle programs, and complex public-sector account strategy. He is also a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as an Airborne Infantry Sergeant with the 25th Infantry Division.
“Ryan brings the rare combination of deep industry knowledge, entrepreneurial experience, and a strong understanding of the customers we serve,” said Mike McKenna, CEO of Diamond Assets. “He will be an important resource for organizations seeking more clarity, predictability, and long-term value from their technology investments.”
Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix and an associate degree in business management from Pierce College.
