DeWitt LLP: Welcomes Attorney Eric M. Peterson as partner in Brookfield and Mequon offices

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Aug. XX, 2026 – DeWitt LLP announced today that Attorney Eric M. Peterson has joined the firm as a partner, working in both its Brookfield and Mequon offices, effective Aug. 25. Peterson joins DeWitt’s Trusts & Estates practice, where he will advise individuals, families, business owners, and fiduciaries on estate planning, administration, and complex trust and estate matters.

Peterson brings a broad range of experience in estate planning and administration, including wills and trusts, marital property agreements, powers of attorney, estate and gift tax planning, probate and trust administration, business succession planning, guardianships, and related matters. He also represents clients in complex trust and estate disputes, including contested estates, fiduciary disputes, trust modifications and settlements, creditor claims, and tax issues.

Peterson earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School, where he served as coordinating editor of the Marquette Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review. He earned his B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University, where he was also a Distinguished Military Graduate. Before becoming an attorney, Peterson served as an officer in the U.S. Army, where he coordinated the deployment of a task force of more than 900 personnel and managed equipment and property valued at more than $250 million.
