The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is embarking upon new beginnings as it takes a leading role in renewed advocacy for the success of its small businesses. The move comes as the Belleville community enters a period of unprecedented new growth, with a number of new families slated to move into the area in the coming years. Hundreds of new housing units are on the horizon for the Village of Belleville, creating a foundation for business development and job creation.
“The time is now to showcase all that is unique and incredible about our community,” new Belleville Chamber of Commerce Board President Josh Wescott said. “We know we have a hidden gem here right along the Sugar River and we want the region to know our businesses have a lot to offer and our absolute best is yet to come.”
The Village of Belleville straddles the Dane/Green County line and is a matter of minutes away from significant employment opportunities while providing a quiet respite away from the traffic jams and hustle and bustle bigger city life.
“Our mission is clear: the time has come to tell Belleville’s story and make sure people know some of the finest food and drink, and best places to recreate along the water are just a quiet country drive away here in Belleville,” Wescott said. “This new commitment to our small businesses also creates opportunity to work collaboratively with our neighbors and find new ways to support all businesses throughout the Sugar River corridor.”
“Working together as communities is what keeps the Sugar River Valley strong, vibrant, and thriving for generations to come,” New Glarus Chamber Executive Director Annie O’Connor said. “When we support one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and invest in the growth of our neighboring communities, we all benefit in the long run. This new chapter for Belleville is incredibly exciting, and we cannot wait to see the amazing things that come from it. Here’s to continued collaboration, shared success, and a bright future for the entire Sugar River Valley region!” O’Connor said.
“The Green County Development Corporation is thrilled to see the Belleville Chamber of Commerce step into this exciting new chapter,” said Olivia Otte, Executive Director of the Green County Development Corporation. “Belleville is a community with tremendous potential, and with new housing growth on the horizon and a renewed commitment to small business success, we are proud to support this effort and look forward to working together to strengthen the entire Green County region.”
The all-new Belleville Chamber of Commerce is focused on continued redevelopment of the historic community’s downtown, encouraging new business growth and development that creates local jobs while marketing local talents, and preserving the uniqueness of what makes Belleville such a special space.
“Our intention is to act with purpose and be bold, promoting the shared excellence of the hometown we are all so proud of, and be clear that Belleville is unequivocally open for business,” Wescott said. “We are going to bring folks together around a common cause, making Belleville the very best place to be. You’re going to want to be here!”
