3 Sheeps Brewing: Named official beer partner for Wisconsin’s 250th Anniversary Celebration

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – 3 Sheeps Brewing, Wisconsin’s third largest craft brewery, has been officially selected by Wisconsin’s Semiquincentennial Commission to brew the state’s official Semiquincentennial beer. This is part of a larger campaign by dozens of states across the country — all brewing an “official” beer of the state’s Semiquincentennial Celebration Events —  in celebration of the United States 250th anniversary.

“Stay Golden has always been our nod to some of the great beers of the past, including Kingsbury Pale Ale, which has deep roots in my family’s brewing history,” said Grant Pauly, founder and brewmaster of 3 Sheeps Brewing. “My great-grandfather served as president, my grandfather was treasurer, and my great-uncle was brewmaster at Kingsbury after Prohibition.”

“So to take a beer inspired by that legacy and have it represent Wisconsin for America’s 250th birthday feels really special. Among all the incredible breweries in this state, it’s an honor to be asked to make Wisconsin’s official beer for the 250th celebrations. We’re really excited for the opportunity,” said Pauly.

In honor of America’s birthday, 3 Sheeps redesigned the Stay Golden label and packaging to highlight its red, white, and blue artwork, along with “Celebrating 250 Years” and “Proudly Independent Since 1776” featured on the main label.

“At 3 Sheeps, we celebrate the freedom to explore, create, and brew What Wisconsin Drinks,” said Pauly. “Now, with Stay Golden, we’re proud to help celebrate what America drinks for the 250th birthday celebrations and beyond.”

For the 4th of July weekend, the taproom will celebrate America’s birthday with special releases and food trucks. The taproom is open on Saturday, July 4, from 11am-8pm.
