Milwaukee, Wis. – May 7, 2025 – TKDA, a Minnesota-based engineering and architecture firm, today announced Amber Thomas as the company’s regional vice president based out of its new office in the Milwaukee metro area. A professional licensed engineer with over 20 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management, Thomas will lead office operations to support and grow TKDA’s clients in Wisconsin’s aviation, surface transportation, industrial and manufacturing, and water infrastructure markets.
Thomas previously served as the director of public works and village engineer for the Village of Grafton, Wis., for nearly 10 years. Prior to that role, she worked as a project manager for Collins Engineers, Inc., in Milwaukee. Thomas has extensive engineering experience working on large, complex projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, including interchange reconstruction and bridge rehabilitation projects in the greater Milwaukee area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Western Michigan University and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Wisconsin.

TKDA’s new office space is now open, located at 1200 N Mayfair Rd. in Wauwatosa, Wis. It houses 14 employees, including some who were previously living in the Milwaukee area and working remotely. The company has 400 total employees across its other locations in Minneapolis/St. Paul and Duluth, Minn.; Chicago, Ill.; San Bernardino, Calif.; and Seattle, Wash.
