Oneida County Tourism Council: Unveils new Trails Guide

ONEIDA COUNTY, Wis. (February 18, 2025)—The Oneida County Tourism Council (OCTC) has unveiled its newest promotional piece, an updated trails guide available to order by mail or download online at oneidacountywi.com.

The guide aims to promote the county’s trails and outdoor recreation offerings to potential visitors through engaging photos, useful information and helpful trail maps. More information about trail accessibility has also been added.

“We spent a lot of time researching what visitors were looking for and found a strong desire for information on accessible recreation,” said Jacqui Sharpe, Chair of the Oneida County Tourism Council and Executive Director of the Three Lakes Area Visitors Bureau. “So, we added icons to help people quickly identify accessible trails, and also updated our website with information on trail surfaces, features like bridges, and rest areas with accessible restrooms.”

The website also shows photos of the trails to help users envision what they might encounter along the way. This spring, the OCTC will also be adding digital trail maps to the website to make navigating the area even easier for visitors of all abilities.

“We want people to know that Oneida County is a place where you can be yourself,” said Sharpe. “That means meeting people where they are and making sure everyone is able to enjoy our trails and communities and feel welcome while they’re here.”

The new Trails Guide was funded entirely by an ARPA grant through Oneida County, and was a collaborative undertaking of trail organizations, volunteer groups, the OCTC and the county Land Information Office.
