Madison, WI –The Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters and American Family Insurance are proud to announce their partnership on the upcoming Climate Fast Forward 2024 conference, a transformative event that will bring together diverse stakeholders to address urgent climate challenges and foster inclusive solutions. The conference will take place on November 14-15, 2024 in Rothschild, WI.
Climate Fast Forward 2024 conference brings together the broadest audience of any climate change conference in Wisconsin, including change makers, seasoned professionals, new voices, and diverse audiences representative of the Wisconsin people who are and will continue to be most impacted by the effects of climate change in our state. Conference attendees will work collaboratively to confront roadblocks and identify immediate and long-term actions that will move Wisconsin forward in combating climate change. This is the third Climate Fast Forward conference, and the first one to take place outside of Madison. This year’s conference will reach Wisconsinites from the Northwoods who have often been left out of conversations around climate change solutions in the state, while still gathering diverse audiences from Wisconsin’s largest cities.
“We are excited to host this landmark event in partnership with American Family Insurance,” said Erika Monroe-Kane, Executive Director at The Wisconsin Academy. “Climate Fast Forward 2024 is more than just a conference—it’s a call to action for all Wisconsinites. By bringing this event to Rothschild, we’re ensuring that the voices from every corner of our state, especially those who have been historically underrepresented in climate discussions, are heard and included in shaping our future. Together, we will create collaborative solutions that reflect the needs and strengths of all our communities, moving Wisconsin towards a more sustainable and resilient future.”
The Summit will feature Dr. Kyle Whyte as a keynote speaker. Dr. Whyte is a faculty member at the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability and is a U.S. Science Envoy, a co-Chair of the U.S. Geological Survey’s Biodiversity and Climate Change Assessment, and a member of the Indigenous and Local Knowledge Task Force of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. The conference will also feature panels of experts researching the impacts of climate change in Wisconsin, as well as transformative solutions.
“We are proud to partner with The Wisconsin Academy for this event. We believe in order to become more resilient, it requires active participation and collaboration from all sectors of society,” said Nyra Jordan, AVP Community and Social Impact for American Family Insurance. “By coming together at this conference, we can collectively champion opportunities to support each other and our communities to address the impacts of a rapidly changing climate and advance solutions for the future of Wisconsin and beyond.”
