Milwaukee, WI – September 25, 2024 – V. Marchese, a family-owned wholesaler offering fresh produce, dairy and spices throughout the Midwest. will once again be supporting Harbor Fest as a sponsor of the local event to celebrate the Milwaukee Harbor District, which will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We are very pleased to once again support Harbor Fest,” said Josh Weber, V. Marchese Chief Financial Officer. “This is our eighth year in a row to be a part of this wonderful event. We want to show our commitment to the community and all that the Harbor District offers where V. Marchese has called home for over 20 years
Harbor Fest is a festival event where typically more than 4500 Milwaukeeans enjoy a day of festivities, including live music, a variety of food, children’s activities and a tour of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s School of Fresh Water Sciences. As the Harbor District’s signature freshwater festival, the festival began in 2017 to celebrate Milwaukee’s flourishing inner harbor and the world-class revitalization of Milwaukee’s working waterfront. This free, family-friendly street and water festival shows off all the harbor has to offer. Harbor Fest will be held in the 600 block of East Greenfield Avenue and Harbor View Plaza.
“We are delighted to have V. Marchese as a sponsor of Harbor Fest,” said Tia Torhorst, CEO of the Milwaukee Harbor District. “The partnership between V. Marchese and Harbor District to create Harbor Fest symbolizes all the things that make this District great – our companies, our people, and our places. V. Marchese’s support is critical for us to bring together thousands of Milwaukeeans to celebrate our Inner Harbor and the Harbor District.”
Harbor Fest also will hold special activities for learning more about the natural environment of the harbor. Not only does the tour of UWM’s Freshwater Sciences School focus on the habitat of the harbor, but a special activity that will happen at the Fest is the collaboration of Riveredge Nature Center and the Harbor District to host Sturgeon Fest where attendees release baby sturgeons into Lake Michigan.
V. Marchese established its operations in the Harbor District in 2003 and since that time has shown a strong commitment to the livelihood of the community and many of the area residents who are employees at the leading wholesaler. As part of V. Marchese’s sponsorship, it will receive recognition on the performance stage, logo displays on back of T-shirts, get click through ads in the Harbor District’s newsletter over next year and have its logo on the event’s website, on social media posts and onsite.
