MADISON, Wis. – Quartz is proud to announce that Siva Balu has joined the company as the new Senior Vice President, Chief Information and Digital Officer. Siva brings with him over 24 years of experience in business strategy, digital transformation, and change management, positioning him to drive forward the company’s mission of delivering well-living solutions.

Siva is a dynamic, results-driven leader who has spearheaded a variety of high-growth initiatives across health care, technology, and digital platforms. In his most recent role at UnitedHealth Group, Siva led digital technology for the Ancillary and Individual business lines, driving significant advancements in these areas. Prior to that, he led a nationwide digital transformation at the YMCA of the USA, building the Y Cloud platform and launching innovative tools such as universal mobile apps, virtual health content, CRM, big data analytics, and more.

Siva’s long-standing career includes over two decades at Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he oversaw technology initiatives that enhanced consumer experiences for over 110 million members, helping to reduce operational costs and address social determinants of health. His strategic use of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, and blockchain further solidified his reputation as a pioneer in the health care and tech industries.

Siva holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, an Executive Master’s in Strategy and Innovation from Harvard, and an Executive Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from MIT. He is also a sought-after keynote speaker and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, contributing his expertise to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
