Neville Public Museum: Explorer Wednesday

Green Bay, WI—September 23, 2024— The Neville Public Museum of Brown County is pleased to offer free admission to Brown County residents on the first Wednesday of each month.

Not only is admission FREE all day, so is a make & take project we will be offering from 10:00 am to noon and 1:30 pm until supplies run out! This month’s craft is a Raincloud Mobile!

Other Special Events on 10/2/2024

– Award-winning author Warren Gerds and Lakewood-based artist Joan White book signing from 1pm – 5pm with programs at 2pm and 4pm.

– Lingo Bingo at 6pm Join special guest hosts from the UWGB Pride Center in a round or two of Lingo Bingo. Learn about terminology, history, and fun facts all wrapped into a bingo game! Winners can choose from a plethora of fun prizes.

– Astronomical Society Meeting at 6:30pm The Neville Public Museum Astronomical Society (NPMAS) is a fellowship of amateur astronomers. We join together to share learnings, experiences, and the passion we have for astronomy. We nurture and promote this interest through our activities. The foundation of our endeavors is the enjoyment we share. Meetings are free and open to the public and include society business, an astronomy-related presentation, and an overview of a Deep Sky Object of the Month.

– International Film Series at 7:00pm (Film – Americans Smell GoodAmericans Smell Good combines filmmaker Emir Cakaroz’s story in the U.S.A. with people from different social, racial, and ethnic backgrounds that he wouldn’t have met if he hadn’t come to this country. It explores the experience of being in between many cultures when living in a foreign land. Cakaroz is a Turkish documentary filmmaker who teaches at UW-Milwaukee. He received his BA and MA degrees in Cinema and Television at Anadolu University in Turkey and will join us afterwards via Zoom for a live Q&A.
