Destination Geneva National: Acquires The Rige Hotel; rebranding in process as Lodge Geneva National

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (August 7, 2024) – Lake Geneva’s Destination Geneva National has continued to make headlines over the past five years by expanding lodging and golf offerings, hosting regional and nationally recognized golf events,  and revitalizing the Midwest’s premier golf and residential community alongside 54 holes by Arnold Palmer, Gary Player,  and Lee Trevino.

A longtime celebrated playground for Chicagoans, Lake Geneva, WI remains a top drive-to destination for escaping the  concrete jungle, and the movement toward remote work and flexible schedules has only made this convenient vacation town  more in demand. These trends, coupled with a four-year uptick in golf, have Destination Geneva National (GN) experiencing  record golf getaways and the push for expansion. GN’s July 2024 acquisition of The Ridge Hotel, a neighboring 90-acre property, will accommodate growth while strategically situating the shoreline resort and club on three sides of picturesque  Lake Como and less than a mile from Geneva Lake.

Since 2011, Geneva National has provided management and development services to the seller, San Diego-based Robert  Lubin and Associates. “Geneva National has officially added 146 rooms, a marina, 20,000 square feet of event space, and  three food and beverage outlets to our growing footprint,” said Garth Chambers II, president and member of the family that  has owned Geneva National since 1996. “Our immediate plans are to rebrand the existing hotel to ‘Lodge Geneva National’ and invest the additional capital required to provide an upscale-yet-welcoming experience consistent with our iconic and  award-winning club lifestyle brand.”

According to Chambers, atop the hotel’s renovation punch list are a refreshed grand arrival, modernized guest rooms with a  nod toward the nautical, and enhanced landscaping – all aimed at growing weddings, corporate meetings, and special  events. “Lodge Geneva National is the perfect base camp for enjoying the best that the area has to offer, including access  to world-class golf and three pristine freshwater lakes for sailing, swimming, fishing, paddling and powerboating,” states  Chief Operating Officer, Glen Murray. “We are beyond thrilled to usher in the next chapter of GN’s history as the most  hospitable address for escaping to what we believe is Lake Geneva’s most hospitable address for lake life and on-course  adventures.”

We are excited to introduce our new logo concept, which embodies the next chapter for our hotel as we create our own identity within the larger Geneva National story. The new look is designed to convey a sense of comfort, friendliness, and authenticity, capturing the essence of our hotel. The logo pays homage to the hotel’s architecture and the flag serves as a symbol of our place within Destination Geneva National, while also representing the resort’s golf component. It signifies our hotel as the central gathering place for the Lake Geneva area, truly becoming the hub of hospitality.
