Dairyland Power Cooperative: Names Greg Flege as vice president, transmission

La Crosse, WI— Dairyland Power Cooperative is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Flege to the position of Vice President, Transmission, effective April 1, 2024. Flege joined Dairyland in 2009 as Supervisor, Load Management, and was promoted to Director, System Operations, in 2016.

As Vice President, Transmission, Flege will serve as a strategic power delivery partner, responsible for system operations, innovation and demand response, operations engineering, transmission construction and maintenance, vegetation management and field and fleet operations. As part of Dairyland’s Executive Team, Flege will provide leadership and direction to ensure safety, operational, environmental, budgetary and regulatory compliance.

During his time with Dairyland, Flege has also led key grid modernization strategies, playing a pivotal role in the deployment of fiber, integration of distributed energy resources and the advancement of beneficial electrification. Prior to joining Dairyland, Flege served in engineering, operations and business development roles at the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities and MDU Resources Group.

A native of Waverly, Iowa, Flege holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of North Dakota. He is also a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Energy Executive Course. Flege has twice earned the Dairyland Board of Director’s Circle of Excellence Award for his outstanding contributions.
