Clean Lakes Alliance: Registration now open for Loop the Lake 2024

Madison, WI – April 18, 2024 – Registration is now open for Loop the Lake 2024, presented by Lake Ridge Bank. It’s an at-your-own-pace bike ride around Lake Monona to raise money and awareness benefiting Greater Madison’s lakes. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th, and promises a day filled with entertaining and educational activities at five parks along the route.

“We are excited to be a supporter of Loop the Lake, a bike ride to benefit our lakes,” said Scott Ducke, EVP – Chief Operating Officer at Lake Ridge Bank and current board member of Clean Lakes Alliance. “This event provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and support the preservation of our beautiful lakes while enjoying a fun and active day outdoors, reminding us why those lakes are so special.”

About Loop the Lake

Loop the Lake is a 13.8-mile course that takes riders clockwise around Lake Monona, beginning and ending at Olbrich Park, 3527 Atwood Ave. The course is open from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and takes most bikers approximately two hours to complete, including time spent at stops along the route for fun activities.

James Tye, Founder and Executive Director of Clean Lakes Alliance, added, “Loop the Lake is a fantastic way for people of all ages to connect with our lakes. Nothing says Greater Madison more than lakes, bikes, parks, and local food.”

Participants of Loop the Lake will receive a unique super-soft Loop the Lake t-shirt courtesy of Lands’ End, a selection from a variety of local food carts, and a free beverage courtesy of Bell’s Brewery. Riders will have the opportunity to partake in various engaging activities throughout the event, including FREE root beer floats at Off Broadway Drafthouse, an exploration station at Winnequah Park where individuals from Aldo Leopold Nature Center will show us the many critters that reside in our lakes, and tours of the Ho-Chunk effigy mounds at Hudson Park. The registration fee for the in-person event is $45 per rider, with day-of registration available for $50 at Olbrich Park. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option is available for $55, which includes a mailed event t-shirt.

The best part? Children ages 10 and under can ride for FREE when accompanied by a paid adult. For just $45, you and your child can embark on a leisurely bike ride around Lake Monona, immersing yourselves in a day of learning, indulging in delicious food, staying active, and soaking in all the natural beauty that our community has to offer. It’s the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories and support a great cause.
