MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has named Paula Jacobson to direct its Quality Department. In this role, Jacobson leads and supports continuous quality and member safety improvement initiatives by ensuring quality reporting requirements are met and striving toward organizational compliance with regulatory, accrediting and certifying organizations.
“I look forward to collaborating with departments across the organization to ensure we maintain and continuously work to improve our quality programs to better serve our members,” said Jacobson. “Nothing is more important than our communities and the reliability, safety, effectiveness and equity of the health care and coverage we provide to them.”
Jacobson has 20 years of professional experience in quality improvement and population health. She served most recently as quality manager since 2017 after five years as a quality improvement specialist with Quartz Health Solutions, formerly Gundersen Health Plan. Prior to 2012 she was a wellness education specialist for 10 years with Gundersen Health System, La Crosse.
As quality manager, Jacobson oversaw Gundersen’s efforts to maximize its ratings and performance for its Medicare, Medicaid and Federally-facilitated Exchange plans and its National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation and ratings. She has extensive experience with health care performance improvement, member experience surveys, quality of care monitoring and other quality initiatives and programs.

Jacobson has a bachelor’s degree in community health education from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and has completed numerous leadership programs and certifications throughout her professional career.
