PolyWrap Recycling: Product designed to encourage recycling in contention for Coolest Thing Made In WI

(Sheboygan, WI) Encouraging recycling to improve the environment was the motivation behind the creation of the RACK’N PAK® Recycle Bagging System now in contention for Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce’s (WMC) “Coolest Thing Made In WI”. The annual contest, hosted by WMC, is an opportunity for Wisconsin manufacturers to showcase unique and game-changing products.

“We’re excited to be included in the contest and competing against a variety of impressive products, some of which are produced from major, multi-national companies headquartered in Wisconsin,” said Jim Theodoroff, president and co-owner of Sheboygan based PolyWrap Recycling, Inc., the company that makes the RACK’N PAK®. “As a small, niche company, we’re pleased with the opportunity to create greater awareness regarding the need for companies to recycle and help improve our environment and that recycling can positively impact the bottom line.”

The RACK’N PAK® Recycle Bagging System is designed to allow companies to easily implement a recycling program, or improve their existing recycling efforts, particularly when it comes to LDPE plastic film commonly referred to as plastic wrap or stretch film.

“Unfortunately, only about 5 to 7 percent of plastic wrap and bags are recycled,” explains PolyWrap President and co-owner, Jim Theodoroff. “The rest ends up in landfills, not only taking up valuable space but also wasting a material that can and should be recycled. Fortunately, since the launch of our product in 2015, more than 220 million pounds of plastic film has been recycled using our system. It’s a good start but our goal is to get to plastic wrap and bags recycling to 100 percent.”

Voting for the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin began Monday, Sept. 18 and runs through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Visitors to the site can cast their votes once per day, per electronic device. For example, if you have a smart phone, desktop computer and tablet, you can cast a vote on each item per day which is allowed and encouraged by WMC. On September 27, the WMC will announce the top 16 products from the over 100 nominees.
