Old World Wisconsin: Announces 2023 summer camps

Eagle, WI – Old World Wisconsin is excited to announce its lineup of adventure-filled day camps for the summer season. Campers will participate in age-old traditions, make new friends and create lasting memories while exploring one of southeast Wisconsin’s most picturesque and historic environments. With four options to choose from, each summer camp experience is designed to immerse participants in hands-on activities that make learning about history fun and exciting. 

“When school is out, there is no better place for young history explorers to spend a summer day than at Old World Wisconsin,” said Dan Freas, site director. “Our summer camps take learning to the next level, providing engaging activities and memorable moments where traditions of the past come alive.”

Apprentice Summer Camp

For ages 13 to 17 | Dates: June 21-23, July 12-14, August 2-4 and August 16-18

Cost: $250 per camper per session, 10% off for Wisconsin Historical Society Members

Teens will get hands-on with history and become an Old World Wisconsin apprentice as they enjoy three days of fun activities and learning through this interactive summer camp. Campers will suit up in period clothing, step into historic workshops and spaces and learn directly from trained artisans. No matter the camper’s interest, we will match them with exciting projects which may include blacksmithing, leatherworking, knitting, wool processing, weaving, cooking, baking, gardening and more.

Little House Adventure Summer Camp

For ages 5-10 | Dates: July 6, July 20 and August 10

Cost: $65 per camper per session, 10% off for Wisconsin Historical Society Members

Kids will step into the life of Wisconsin’s own Laura Ingalls Wilder as they enjoy a full day of fun activities and learning through this interactive summer camp at Old World Wisconsin! They will work together with other campers to explore life in a wooded cabin and at a one-room schoolhouse, help prepare a historic treat and meet real workhorses.

For one day only on July 30, grownups can join in on the fun at Little House Family Adventure Summer Camp. Registration costs $50 per camper.

Maker’s Summer Camp

For ages 5-10 | Dates: July 7, July 21, July 28 and August 11

Cost: $65 per camper per session, 10% off for Wisconsin Historical Society Members

Campers will get hands-on and use the power of science and art to form spectacular creations with historic tools. Enjoy a full day of action-packed fun and learning through this interactive summer camp at Old World Wisconsin. Explore makers throughout history and enter old world workshops to shape steel, work leather and transform wool into yarn.
