NeighborWorks Green Bay: Give Big Green Bay success!

NeighborWorks Green Bay was one of 45 nonprofits honored to participate in Give Big Green Bay for a second year in a row. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, supporters, and staff, NeighborWorks Green Bay rounded out the top 10 with a total of $61, 830 from 169 donors.  NeighborWorks Green Bay’s challenge continues to be immense, faced with a current housing crisis that by 2040 has a critical need for over 11,000 housing units in the City of Green Bay alone.  According to Noel Halvorsen, President and CEO of NeighborWorks Green Bay, “Green Bay is in a housing crisis. We don’t have enough units for the people that live here or enough for those that are coming. We need to build more homes, that’s one of the reasons we are working with high schoolers to teach them about the construction and trades industry. We have families at-risk that we serve with our rental housing and we need to build more housing for working families, so they have a place to call home.”  NeighborWorks Green Bay is grateful to Associated Bank Foundation for providing internal matching funds, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, and the Green Bay Packers Give Back program-with their help and those of our donors, NeighborWorks Green Bay can build a better Green Bay.
