Lakeland Care Inc.: Increases commitment to serving community through 24 hours of Volunteer Time Off for all employees

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (Jan. 30, 2023) – Lakeland Care, Inc., an organization focused on building better lives through programs that care for and inspire our communities, is implementing a new policy directed at encouraging employees to volunteer. Volunteer Time Off (VTO) will be increased from eight hours per year to 24 hours per year for each employee. With these volunteer hours, employees will serve their local communities through initiatives close to their heart individually or as a group of employees from Lakeland Care.

“Building better lives through strengthening communities is a pillar of our mission here at Lakeland Care, Inc. We know that strong communities will benefit our members, employees, families, and friends,” said Sara Muhlbauer, CEO of Lakeland Care, Inc. “In addition to serving our communities, we value the benefits volunteerism provides to our employees. There is a deep satisfaction in making a difference in the community and we hope these hours allow even the busiest employee to take time out to support great causes they care about.”

To coordinate these volunteer activities, Lakeland Care Inc. has also employed a Volunteer Services Specialist who identifies and coordinates volunteer opportunities and helps to match community needs with the strengths of Lakeland Care.

In addition to coordinating ongoing volunteer opportunities, Lakeland Care’s Volunteer Services Specialist is currently coordinating a Day of Giving, where Lakeland Care employees will have the opportunity to volunteer their time and support Lakeland Care provider partners within the local communities where they live and work. Lakeland Care staff will be provided the opportunity to serve 4 hours to assist provider partners with needed projects, general cleaning, events, and more. These four hours are in addition to their 24 hours of Volunteer Time Off allocated for 2023.
