Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce: Miller Electric named PULSE Champion of Young Professionals

FOX CITIES, Wis. – (March 9, 2023) – Miller Electric has been named a PULSE Champion of Young Professionals (YPs) by the Fox Cities Chamber. This designation recognizes employers who pledge to provide support and a positive work environment for YPs within their company.

“Here at Miller Electric we are supportive of our young professionals in the workplace and want to ensure a culture that encourages their growth and professional development,” said Tara Wickersheim, Platform Controller, Commercial Welding, at Miller Electric. “Being a Champion of Young Professionals is one way we can promote that in our talent attraction efforts.”

Miller has its own internal YPN (Young Professionals Network) that hosts monthly events centered around networking, volunteering, and development. They begin at the high school level, recruiting and educating young people through job fairs and an internship program, resulting in a robust YP workforce.

“Culture and connections keep people working with Miller,” said Wickersheim. “Many interns convert to full-time employees because of the time taken to create a positive work culture that bridges not only individuals within the company, but extends them out into the community.”

Katie Kleman, Product Specialist at Miller Electric, adds, “One special thing about working at Miller is that volunteer opportunities are built in and encouraged.  It’s easy to take advantage of giving events throughout the Fox Cities, and Miller celebrates those connections.”

There is a strong dedication to giving back at Miller’s parent company, ITW, as well.  The ITW Gift & Volunteer Match program gives employees the opportunity for their financial gifts and volunteer hours served to be triple matched by ITW, allowing donations to go even further.

Any Fox Cities company can apply to be classified as a PULSE Champion of Young Professionals and pledge to provide support and a positive work environment for YPs within their company.

“Young professionals are essential to the Fox Cities and to the companies that employ them,” said Jodie Federwitz, Director, Fox Cities Chamber PULSE Young Professionals Network. “PULSE is excited to work alongside Miller YPN to generate a positive YP culture and connections throughout the Fox Cities.”
