Acuity Territory Director John Bell received the 2023 Buford C. McIntosh Company Person of the Year Award from Big I Kentucky, the state’s leading insurance trade association.
The Buford C. McIntosh Company Person of the Year Award is presented to an individual who is a supporter of Big I Kentucky and its member agencies and is an example of customer service, integrity, and perseverance. It is given to someone who has made a difference to clients and made the insurance industry better as a whole.
“John Bell has been honored with this prestigious award in recognition of his unwavering dedication to the insurance industry. As a long-time supporter of Big I Kentucky, his commitment and service as a steward have significantly contributed to the improvement of the insurance landscape for member agents
throughout Kentucky. John is much deserving of this respected award,” said Tara Purvis, Big I Kentucky President and CEO.
“John has been a fixture in the insurance community since graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in insurance. His dedication to our industry is remarkable. He exemplifies customer service and what it means to be a true company partner to agencies across the Commonwealth. He makes the independent insurance agency system a better place,” said John Ison, Ison Insurance Agency President.
John joined Acuity as a Commercial Field Underwriter in 2013, coming to the company with over 20 years of industry experience in underwriting and sales.
He was named Territory Director in 2017 and continues to oversee the production activity of agencies in Acuity’s Kentucky and southern Ohio regions. He holds the CPCU, CIC, and TRIP designations.
The award is named for Buford C. McIntosh, a long-time supporter of Big I Kentucky and member agencies across Kentucky. Buford spent many years with Kentucky Central/Kentucky National Insurance Companies and helped agencies of all sizes by believing in their integrity and perseverance.
