Wisconsin Historical Society: Experience the magic of a nineteenth century Christmas at Holidays at Wade House

Greenbush, WI – Enjoy the excitement of a 19th-century Christmas celebration at a special experience coming to Wade House Historic Site for one weekend only this December. Holidays at Wade House shares traditions from another era and brings families together to make new holiday memories on December 10-11, 2022. Tickets are available online, and Holidays at Wade House will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days of the event.

Guests will receive a warm welcome at the historic stagecoach hotel, all decked out for the season. From jubilant holiday music to nostalgic seasonal treats baking fresh on the hearth, the simplicity and magic of a mid-1800s Christmas will delight visitors of all ages.

The event will feature a mix of modern fun and traditional Christmas activities for the whole family to enjoy. Activities include cookie decorating, holiday crafts, holiday-themed games (including a present balancing race for children and adults) and a scavenger hunt throughout the Visitor Center and Carriage Museum to see who can find the Nut Cracker. Guests will also be treated to a special reading of the beloved Christmas classic “The Night Before Christmas” in the historic Wade House.
