Shopko Optical: Acquires Becker Vision Center

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Shopko Optical, a leader in providing trusted eye care to communities for over 40 years, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Becker Vision Center, 2411 Third Street South in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

Dr. William Becker retired on December 30 and has closed Becker Vision Center. As part of his retirement planning, Dr. Becker looked to find the right eye care home for his loyal patients in the community. Shopko Optical will assume optometric care of Dr. Becker’s patients at its Wisconsin Rapids location, located at 4551 8th St.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome Dr. Becker’s patients to Shopko Optical,” said Russ Steinhorst, Shopko Optical CEO. “We share a commitment to patient-centric care and strong community-based values. Our new patients will be pleased to receive the same thorough and trusted eye care they have come to rely on, with an enhanced eyewear offering and convenient extended hours.”

Through its Kids in Focus program, Shopko Optical partners with the local Lions Club to identify eligible children from the area to receive a comprehensive eye exam and pair of glasses. In addition, Shopko Optical teammates receive paid time off to volunteer in their community.

Shopko Optical accepts most major vision plans, including EyeMed, UHC Vision, DeltaVision, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, Anthem, and many more. Shopko Optical is also an open-access provider for VSP.
