School Choice Wisconsin: Doubles size of outreach team

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (December 19, 2022) – School Choice Wisconsin will add two members to its staff, doubling the size of its outreach team, according to Nic Kelly, SCW president.

Chris Lawrence and Ryan Huebsch will join SCW effective January 3, 2023. They will work with current staff to educate communities about the value of parental choice programs, develop grassroots support, and help families and students participate.

“We are fortunate to welcome two very talented individuals who care deeply about parental freedom. Both bring excellent skills, high energy, and valuable statewide experience to our team,” Kelly said.

Chris Lawrence will serve as the statewide Director of Outreach. As a parent with three children who participate in parental choice programs, he brings firsthand knowledge of their value. He also has extensive organizing experience, including as Grassroots Director at Americans for Prosperity, Program Director at No Better Friend Corp., and Logistic and Grassroots Director for gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels. He also served as a Legislative Assistant to Senator Duey Stroebel.

Ryan Huebsch will serve as Outreach Assistant. He has extensive legislative and campaign experience. He is a passionate supporter of parent choice who recently campaigned to represent Assembly District 94. His legislative experience includes serving as an aide to former State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and more recently as Committee Clerk and Policy Staff to State Senator Eric Wimberger.

Lawrence and Huebsch join Nataly Andrade, Director of Hispanics for School Choice, and Mike Metoff, School Outreach and Research. As a student, Nataly participated in the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program and then served as Admission Director at St. Joan Antida. Mike served as an ELL teacher and then Dean of Students at St. Thomas More in Milwaukee.

“Our team brings an impressive range of talents and firsthand knowledge of what parent choice means to families,” Kelly said. “We look forward to spreading the word.”
